The Human Resources (HR) Profession is dedicated to building and uplifting strategic HR skills across the APS. The profession helps to set and promote professional standards for HR in the APS and provide opportunities for HR professionals to connect.

The work of the HR Professions is informed by public, private, domestic and international best practice. This work includes:

  • delivering learning content
  • partnering with the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI)
  • defining the APS HR Profession’s Pathways to Professionalisation

Jacqui Curtis, Chief Operating Officer, Australian Taxation Office

Jacqui champions strategic APS HR capability and creates strong collaboration across the APS. She is also the sponsor of the APS HR Graduate and School Leaver programs.

As Head of the HR Profession, Jacqui:

  • leverages her national and international presence to ensure APS-wide capability development initiatives are well-informed and based on best-practice
  • advises agencies of contemporary approaches to strategic HR including recruitment, development and retention
