Transcript - What is the HR Profession? [upbeat music] Hello, I'm Jacqui Curtis, the Head of Profession for HR in the APS, I'm also the Chief Operating Officer here at the ATO. Since 2019, we've brought into the APS over 250 graduates. We've brought in school leavers. We've established networking events. We've used subject matter experts not only to showcase their skills, but to build capability in areas where we knew there were significant gaps in the workforce. All of this has now positioned the HR professional workforce as a confident, influential, strategic partner with the business areas across departments and agencies. HR experts are now sought out by leaders, agency heads, and secretaries to provide advice. They no longer need to ask for a seat at the table. They are at the table and they are welcome. So a call-to-action for you if you're an HR professional, is make the most of all the opportunities that the stream provides. Get involved, support your colleagues. Be a professional stream just like CPA people who are finance people or legal officers, or any of the other professional streams we have across the service. This will help not only your organisation deliver on the outcomes it needs to deliver, but it will help you in your career journey for the future. [upbeat music] End of transcript
